Welcome to Safari Catering Services CIC
Safari Catering Services is a Community Interest Company (CIC) with clear charitable objects. The organisation was set up by a group of African women to provide training on how to prepare retail and promote African foods in the community.
As a social enterprise, all the profits made by the company will be reinvested back into the business or used for community benefit. The training targets the following groups:
- Unemployed Black and Ethnic Minority (BME) women
- British born BME women
- BME women refugees and asylum seekers,
- Other non BME women that would like to participate on the program
SFC CIC was born out of an event – “African Foods Seminar tagged Close to Home” staged in the Black History Month of October 2005 in Nottingham –One of the topics at the event was African Foods in Nottingham”. The forum talked about lack of African Foods Centre where Africans can sit to eat and learn how to prepare African foods.
